Tecate River Engineered Wetlands

The project team developed strategies to integrate engineered wetland tanks into the Tecate river channel. The tanks are sized to treat overflow water from local treatments plants and excess wastewater from the brewery. Spurlock Poirier and Nolte Engineering included the enhancement of native Oak buffers, civic pathways and recreation areas create new spaces and reframe the river as a civic asset.
